The Tavor (T.A.R 21) is an Israeli bull pup assault rifle equipped with 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition with a selective fire system. The name "T.A.R. 21" stands for "Tavor Assault Rifle - 21st Century". The Tavor was selected as the future assault rifle of the Israel Defense Forces. It is now the standard issued weapon of the Givati and Golani infantry brigades. In the near future all Israeli infantry soldiers will get the Tavor Assault Rifle. The Tavor is also used by special forces of various countries like India, Portugal, Guatemala and Turkey.
