Many of the IDF Chiefs of General Staff came from the paratroopers brigade. While in office they kept their red beret but instead of the emblem of the infantry they were wearing the emblem of the IDF. The Chief of Staff is the only IDF soldier that wears the emblem of the IDF over his beret.
