Armor division 401 also known as the Iron Trails division. It was established just after the Six Days War in 1967, in order to defend the Suez Channel. Since it was at the immediate frontier during the Yom Kippur war, the division suffered from lots if casualties. Since 2004 the Merkava 4 is the main battle tank of the 401 Armor division.
