• 3 front lower pouches hold 3 rifle mags (M16/AK 47/Galil) per pouch-(total of 9 rifle mags).
• 3 single pistol mag pouches on the side of rifle mag pouches.
• Two side pouches hold grenades
• 3 Special 669 pouches for carrying first aid gear
• Map or radio codes compartment
• 2 Special 669 pouches for carrying sensitive radio and GPS equipment
• 2 heavy weight karabiners/hooks for rope attachments, used for mountain climbing and repelling
• Hand Gun Pouch
• Top rear pouch with internal pouch holds complete radio system or first aid or other gear. Passage for communication device wires, antenna or water vessel.
• Back lower rear pouch, holds rope-gear.
• External elastic strap for helmet.
• Padded adjustable shoulders for perfect height.
• High quality Velcro closures and quick release snaps.
• Side adjustable straps to adjust girth for a perfect fit.

The 669 unit's role is to extract and provide medical treatment to downed (and possibly injured) pilots beyond enemy lines. However, in later years the unit also participated in extraction of soldiers of other arms of the Israeli Defense Forces, especially Special Forces (Sayeret) fighters in operations beyond enemy lines and seamen in distress.
